I knew Gini through Mike Lewis. I lived in San Francisco from 1981 - 1988. I lived in Mike's home for a few months in 1985. I remember Gini helping out Mike at The Detour and drawing her pictures while Mike was spinning. Gini was very kind to me - when I was preparing to leave San Francisco in 1988, she made sure I left with a good variety of music that I didn't already have. After I had arrived in Seattle, she was with Rhythm Stick records and she would send me a copy of every issue as I had taken a job as DJ in Seattle. I kept in contact with her for a while - the last time we spoke she was living in what she described as a fairly remote cabin in, I believe, Cazadero, or someplace close to there.
Please contact me at jllevy123@hotmail.com or pass this on to her.

May 27, 08 | 8:45 amI know Gini Spiersch. She is actually my grandma. How long have you known her? Probably since before I was born. I have never heard her talk about you, which is why I am curious, because there are a lot of other names I have heard.
I cannot give out her information, for obvious reasons, but if you give me your information, I can pass it on to her, because she lives just down the street.

Apr 15, 07 | 5:39 amI was a personal friend of Mike's and even lived in his home for a while when I was recovering from minor surgery. At that time, his roommate was Ron Roth who owned Ron's Records on Market Street right next door to The Detour. Mike was such a nice guy, painfully shy but extremely talented with dance music. He provided so many magical nights at the Troc. I never heard a bad mix from him and he knew how to mix popular records with new stuff to introduce his audience to. His gigs at The Detour were awesome - he really knew how to play "Drag Your D**k In The Dirt" music (AKA Morning Music).
His close friend and assistant Gini Spiersch was also a friend of mine - does anyone know of her whereabouts and how to contact her?

Nov 27, 05 | 1:22 pmheard him a few times in "The Saint" NY. Played many nights with DJ Robbie Leslie. Great technition.

I knew Mike from his Circus, Studio One Days. When he spinned at Circus, he made every night magical. He knew how to lift the crowd, and as much as he entertained the crowd, the crowd entertained him. I considered Mike a friend, and he was quite shy, but once you broke through that, a very genuine, kind person. I will never forget all the joy he brought. RIP.
