Feb 08, 11 | 1:23 pmI have always enjoyed Eria's music and like the others above was torn to hear she had passed. Eria's music was as graceful as she was and I know she will be remembered for many many years to come.
I was delighted to see the tribute to her on the CD "I'm Coming Out." I wish I only had the chance to meet her. I guess now she is up above singing to angels and looking over all of her fans down here. Perhaps one day Eria, I will have the honour of meeting you. I promise to you Eria, as long as I have ears I will listen to your music. As long as I can sing, I will sing your songs and as long as my heart beats, in my heart you will stay.
My thoughts and prayers to your family... Jamie.L

Oct 02, 10 | 9:47 amSo,I hadn't heard Savin Myself in yeaaaars BUT the other day I heard it twice in a span of maybe 10-15 minutes on TWO DIFFERENT radio stations (CHUM FM and Proud FM). I've had the song in my head ever since. So I went to find a video on youtube but found out she passed... my heart sunk a little. She made lots of people happy with her music and I will never forget her! Cheers to Eria!

Jul 16, 09 | 7:50 amEria's song "savin myself" was playinig the first time i went to a gay bar. I was about 18/19 years old. That one song really takes me back. I bought the cd which i still have to this day and play it frequently. I sought out all the 12 inch remixes. I was very sadden to hear that she passed. It is such a shame that there wasnt more music of hers released. Does anyone know other the the cd and the releases if there is any other music?

Jul 02, 07 | 2:27 pmHey Anita,
Yes I do rememeber you. How could I forget! You were one of Eria's closest friends. I hope you are doing great.
It amazes me how people still remember her and continue to contribute. Recently, I heard a completely new remix of Savin' Myself and I was blown away. (I wonder if Vince had anything to do with this?)

Jan 10, 07 | 9:26 amI still have Eria's first album release. I can't tell you how many hours I spent listening to it...over, and over again ... LOL.
I just found this site, and discovered that we lost Eria, much too soon!!! A part of my youth that I cherish died when I read the news...I know she touched many lives though her music, and left us with many wonderful memories.

Feb 14, 05 | 12:58 pmJust found this site. I was a trombonist in the Hamilton McMaster Jazz Band and Mohawk Jazz Band in 1981. 1981 saw the Mohawk Jazz Band win the Canadian Open Jazz Band Festival in Edmonton. Fronting the band for one of the three numbers which won us the competition was Eria Fachin singing 'Our Love Is Here To Stay' - an arrangement put together by the lead trumpet Ian Townsend (?). I often watch the video I have of this performance. I remember a number of performances of the band with Eria. Very sad to see such a young and talented performer pass.

Nov 15, 04 | 7:42 amLou,
Thanks for the extra info and please accept our condolenses on the passing of Eria. Vince DeGiorgio once expressed to me what a wonderful lady she was.
If you have a better photo than the one above I would be most happy to update with it. Any additional info on Eria would also be appreciated.

Nov 14, 04 | 6:21 pmEria was born April 20, 1960 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Thanks,
Lou J. Fachin

Wow... I just found this site and had not realized that Eria had passed away. Such a great loss. She had one of the most beautiful voices. I still listen to her music quite often and remember how much fun I had listening to her in the 80s. If she were still around, her career would have definitely skyrocketed to the stars and beyond!
Eria is still alive in my heart!
