i like one of the members heard his wonderful songs & could never find them when i looked up his album it was really a jaw dropper to see him..... so youthful with that powerful voice i had to call my man to show him his picture. im really sorry he died @ my age so like many members i knew that song if you let me make love 2u it is a very haunting song my other favourites are just dont wanna b lonely & i think ill tell her. we really need to big him up more

Children, Children,lol May I suggest, that the confusion as to whether Ronnie Dyson was a member of the Disco Group Tramps or not; is because in some research I have noticed that they were on the same concert bill from time to time. Maybe,just maybe he did a song or two with them during that time, and someone assumed he was part of the group. Would it be so bad if he was? If Philippe Wynn could sing with the Parliament, isn't anything possible? It's all music, and what can be wrong with that?

I was a child when Ronnie Dyson's "If you let me make love to you, then why can't I touch you?" was released. I was 10 years old. I remember my parents discussing it,saying "How can you make love to some one and not touch them." Hmmm, funny to think I knew then what he meant.
She gave him her body, but not her emotions. I loved that song, but his rendition of Bridge over Troubled Water, now THAT's the chiller. If you haven't heard it; look it up!!He took that straight to church! "I Don't Wanna Cry" is another one. A great voice, a lot of deep emotion. I hope he's in heaven singing in the angel's choir.

This is another member of The Trammps! They are falling everywhere. Why?? The Trammps were simply the best! I should know, I worked with every DISCO group there was. The Trammps had the best crowds, put on the best performances, recorded the best music. Considering that, it increases the agony of another death in the band. Ronnie had the voice. It was him you heard when The Trammps were on top. He also wrote a few great songs, including the biggest hit The Main Ingredient ever released, I JUST DON"T WANT TO BE LONELY! That is an all-time favorite of mine. Cuba Gooding, remember him? Thank you Ronnie, you are missed. God Bless.

Once Ronnie's then single was flipped over, you never went back to the A-side; this forced Columbia Records to reissue the track as a promo single for radio airplay. feel a loss. And being born 10 years
behind them, I just can.t tink of anyone
that can do that. Tom Jones is about my
age 62. I coldn't understant why he dissapeared, and can;t be found on YOUTUBE
RHAPSODY and such. Now I find he died in
1990. We and RHAPSODY need to remember
and respect him!

Dyson's excitingly bold delivery and reach of that nobel voice of his for anyone now who hears it for the first time, is in awe of someone in the passed that unfortunately left us to early, and deserved more publicity to catapult his career.

being from philly and reading all of these comments from various web sites it was about time i had my say.
ronnie was a great talent.
but you guys in the UK dont seam to know about the first recording of "When You Get Right Down To It". it had been done just one year before by the delfonics. that version sold well here,
his coming just one year later was to soon
to make a big impact.

and his "i just dont want to be lonely" was done one year later and sold big for the main ingredients.

it seems he couldnt catch a break,couldnt get that one big record to put him over the top,a song he could call his. and he did tour with the tramps also a philly band.
for me i cant stop playing " I THINK ILL TELL HER" ronnie i wish you were here.

I'm glad there is a site that allows people's thoughts on Ronnie Dyson.

He had a great voice, VERY unique, and put out some of the greatest songs recorded.

"If You Let Me Make Love to You, Then Why Can't I Touch You" is one of the earliest songs I can remember (I was 5 when it came out). Another favorite is "I Think I'll Tell Her What's On My Mind" - well written, perfectly sung.

I hope others will leave comments about Ronnie, because he's one of those great singers that, for some reason, fell through the cracks as far as recognition is concerned.

Definately underrated and lost in obscurity. Ronnie Dyson has one of the most distinct and unique voices I've heard. His music is still generates goosebumps.

He was one brilliant of brilliancy, of quality and uniqueness from one song writer to the other.

I saw your web site and I just had to join
up and leave my comments about Ronnie Dyson. Well, I remember back in the early seventies hearing "When You Get Right Down To It". What a massive record! Unusual in those days for someone to cross-over and have a huge hit in the U.K. and the states. Ronnie Dyson had one of the best voices ever, period. Even listening to it now sends chills down my back. Wonderful!

First of all, Ronnie Dyson never worked with the Trammps!
Secondly, with all the hubbub about "If you let me make love to you", we forget he made a song IN THE DISCO ERA called "Couples Only"!

I think his song, "If you let me make love to you" is one of the finest pop songs ever made.
