Reader Comments on Gregg Diamond

I have an album on Casablanca by an artist called Joel Diamond....any relation? And what has become of Gregg's brother Godfrey Diamond, who played on (and sometimes co-produced) some of Gregg's recorded work? And, in my opinion, Gregg Diamond was in the top 5 of dance music producers, right up there with those who were more commercially successful than he. "New York, You Got Me Dancing", "Risky Changes" and "This Side of Midnight" still make me sweat, even when I listen to them all alone at home...

What a great record RISKY CHANGES was. It rocked the floors of every DISCO. BIONIC BOOGIE, NEW YORK YOU GOT ME DANCING, THIS SIDE OF MIDNIGHT were all huge hits for him as well. The music he produced was just as special. Have we all forgotten how often we played his songs! I haven't, I thank you for the opportunity to have played such excellent sounds> Thank you. GOD BLESS!

Gregg was one of the best producers-songwriters of the 70's.
His style was unique, songs like Dance Little Dreamer, Risky Changes, Cream, Chains, Fancy Dancer and so many othes are among the best disco ever written.
Its so sad that he passed away so young and that we know so little about him.
I m always moved by his music.
