I worked for Neil, teaching his son, Tim, guitar in their home, twice a week for the last two years of Neil's life. I tried to contact Stuart Zaikov but the link is broken. Does anyone know where Joyce Bogart is today? I was always very impressed with the Bogarts as good people and a loving family.

I am surprised that there are so little comments about NEIL BOGART. With all the amazing deejays from the DISCO era out there, I am very intrigued as to the reasoning for that. Did everyone forget who was personally responsible from taking DISCO out of the clubs, and thrusting it into the mainstream of American culture. From a local success into an international branch of modern music. It was CASABLANCA RECORDS, and solely CASABLANCA that produced what the world called DISCO. Sure there were plenty of others that helped. Many successful labels produced DISCO, but it was CASABLANCA products that brought it to the national consciousness. In the pivotal years of DISCO, 1975 to 1980, CASABLANCA gave the world DONNA SUMMER. They gave us SANTA ESMERALDA. How about LOVE AND KISSES? CASABLANCA!Remember "ROMEO and JULIET", on CASABLANCA! CASABLANCA gave the world THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY!!Oh, did I forget the VILLAGE PEOPLE!! No, I didn't, but obviously all the quote, "Big Names" have! The list of DISCO records from CASABLANCA is staggering! When a DISCO record MADE IT, it was usually on CASABLANCA. Of course there were other labels as well, but in sheer quality and quantity, CASABLANCA leaves all the competition in the dust. Yet we can't spare the time to talk about NEIL BOGART, the man responsible for it all. But there is a flip side to that coin. An argument could be made, that it was CASABLANCA who is responsible for the demise of DISCO!!! Is that why no one writes a comment about NEIL, he is somehow blamed for ending the GOOD OLD DAYS OF DISCO? Did he release so much product, and promote it so well, practically shoving it down the American music lovers throat, that it led to "the death of DISCO"? Is that why everyone leaves this site alone, like it had a deadly disease? That is a question I ponder now, since so few cared enough to even express their condolences. I believe that to lay the blame on anyone's shoulder is very unfair. There were many other reasons why the word DISCO got to be laughed at in disgust. Remember that everyone and their mother got into the DISCO act, ETHEL MERMANN !!?? Wasn't that a bit too much? Receiving 200 pieces of product daily during the years of 1977 to 1980 was a ridiculous concept, yet it happened!! OVER-SATURATION was the single biggest reason the term DISCO became despised. Of course it just started referring itself by a NEW term, DANCE MUSIC, and continues, not as good as the old days, but it does, continue!. But its roots came from NEIL BOGART'S vision and from CASABLANCA RECORDS. We all must realize that. Thank you NEIL, GOD BLESS YOU, AND GOD BLESS DISCO!!!!
