I sure wish someone associated with Megatone Records would make some effort to get the label's catalog released domestically on CD. Since I live close to San Francisco, maybe I should do it!

I read on another website that Megatone Records was brokered to a Canadian company, Unidisc.

Megatone Records did release material to CD, lots of it. The Megatone Records web site should be up and running soon. Unidisc licensed material for release in Canada but it is available in the U.S. (as import CDs). Megatone Records moved to Hollywood, California. That is all the information that I can post for now. Check with Amazon-US, Amazon-UK and/or eBay for the 12 by 12 CDs by Megatone Records. Hopefully this helps you.

This is one of the driving forces of the SAN FRANSISCO GAY MUSICAL MAFIA who released many great albums and recordings in the seventies and eighties. He was responsible for the success of many, including the legendary SYLVESTER. Unfortunately, like that whole group out west there, they died too young. We miss them and their music, they helped put DISCO on the map. Rest In Peace, and may GOD BLESS YOU!

I can remember looking for my first apartment in San Francisco in 1987, and looked at one on Noe St. My roommate and I liked it and we went with the landlord upstairs to fill out an application, and we freaked out when we saw Gold Records all over the walls in the hallway! The landlord was Marty and he told briefly about the music biz, something I was interested in at the time. I can remember he had issues of DRUMMER magazine around too, and I believe he was involved with that as well. I never did get the apartment, only to move around the corner, but would see him walking and he would always say hello. Jeez, over 20 years ago...where have they gone?
