Lou Capurso

Disco DJ at Soap Factory Disco, Chicago's

 

DJ Lou Capurso was the original DJ at the famous Soap Factory Disco in Palisades Park, New Jersey. Lou spun records from 1975 thru 1985, but the Soap Factory in the late 1970s was the best. Capurso also was the original music coordinator for all the music for the Soap Factory TV show from 1977 thru 1979.

Lou Capurso also played at Chicago's (Lodi,NJ), Temptations, and had week day guest spots at New York, New York (NYC), Rams Horm, Cameo, Adam's Apple (NYC), Rich and Famous, Surf Club North (NJ) and a few more.

    Some of the best times of my life were spent at the Soap Factory hanging in the dj booth with you and the girls. I miss those days and have great memories.     wow this is great i was looking for some of the clips of my brother that was on the show dancing we made him a dance coat with picture of soap factory on back with bubbles coming out he dance all the time there. his name was ronnie degroat, nickname rocky some times they called him rocky travolta he really danced good if any one has any picturesof him dancing i i would like to see and have Ronnie is no longer with us he passed away years ago. thanks Melonee his sister

    Wow, thanks for sharing these pictures. What really surprised me is that I am in the picture of the bus stop dancers. I am behind the person in the middle front line.

    I may have some artifacts of my own to contribute.

    Just went to the Disco Ball at the Taja Mahal in Atlantic City a couple of weeks ago. Three and a half hours of disco's greatest stars performing their hits from 30 years ago.

    All the years I went there I never knew about who owned it or bad things that happened in and around the club. Probably becuase all I cared about was the great music, the people and dancing.

    Great to see you in pictures Louie. Hope you remember me I was a big fan of yours and pain in the a** when it came to making requests.
