DJ Greg and DJ Regg Irick (Gregory and Reginald Irick)

Born under the sign of Gemini in 1960 from Jersey City, New Jersey were the twins Gregory and Reginald Irick. They were influenced by their uncle who used to play music. Almost everyday he would bring home new records to hear and he would tell them about the artists. As they got older they began to collect their own records and would play all day on that one record player, but they both wanted to play at the same time.

They got another player but something was still wrong, they could not play two records at the same time so one would play a record and when that record went off the other would start the next record. As time went on they wanted the music to come from the same speakers so they took a radio and used that to hook the players together. One day a man who was a radio DJ moved next door and showed them how to feel the sound. They learned to mix and talk over the music and they started to have parties every weekend. they got together with some friends and started a club.soon other clubs and fraternity`s would hire them to play.people wanted tapes for their birthday`s etc. other`s wanted them to teach them how to play,they had a big influenced around the city.other dj`s would try to out do the twins but they would come up with something new.instead of just two turntables they would use three than four and play at the same time.they started to go to all the nite clubs in NJ/NY and listen to other dj`s,it was a whole New Experience for them.It was a whole new level of music and sound.the clubs were huge and the crowds were large and the music was loud and the lites were amazing.the twins would incorperate the style of these dj`s and blend it with their own.clubs like the
Paradise Garage with the god of sound LARRY LEVAN,club Zanzibar HIPPIE T.instantly became the focal point of the kind of music we play.Special thanks to LL and HT for setting the stage.to all ny/njdj`s we had the pleasure of listening to,timmy regisford,tony humphies,Frankie Crocker,david morrales,
