Thomas Dolby

New Wave artist (b. 1958- Present)

disco Thomas Dolby was born in Cairo, Egypt and became of of the biggest ONE HIT WONDERS of all time. He gave us SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE in 1982-83. It tore up the DISCO dance floor for an entire year. I expected him to follow with some more great stuff, it never happened. What he did do, is start the Cell-Phone ring-tone industry in the early 1990s. Today he tours performing new songs, but always finishes with his ONE HIT WONDER "SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE."

Bucky, as a "forefather of the early disco movement" who "never achieved", It's still not over for me. My future is still ahead of me. As for Thomas Dolby, I love him, just not as knowledgeable as others. I submitted him here too get him some much needed acknowledgment. I only go on what I know, his only HIT was SHE BLINDED ME WITH SCIENCE. That sounds like a "One Hit Wonder" to me. But I will gladly take it back. You Go THOMAS DOLBY, "SHE"S ALIVE!!"

To call Mr Dolby a "one hit wonder" does him very little justice. The Golden age of wireless album had many a great collection of songs. Early on he caliberated whith famous rap crew Whodini. Whodini songs "magic's wand" & "the haunted house of rap" were early hits of Thomas who was credited on these with producing and writting. Whodini went on to gain a great deal of success in both Top forty radio and on movie soundtracks. This is something some of our forefathers of the early disco movement never achieved. So with that said; Take that "one hit wonder" stuff back!
