John England

Seattle Disco DJ - June 29th, 1954 - present

John England Seattle DJ since 1976 and one of the last remaining members of the original Electric Canary Record Pool started by Dana Andrews in late 1977. As a group of us bought the Electric Canary and became a founding member of the Seattle Dance Music Association which became the music pool of today known as Northwest Dance Music Association.

His career in nightclubs (with an internship of sorts with Dana at the original Monastery Nightclub) was helped along by many DJs, notably Fred Kulstad. During the 80's, he was the DJ and Emcee at the biggest male reviews, Papa Bear's and later Dandy's. The 90s saw a return to the dancefloor and nightclubs with stints at the Brass Connection, the Catwalk, the Easy, the Balcony, the Lizzard Lounge and currently at the Cuff Complex where he spins their Sunday Tea Dance with music ranging from the 70s to today.

John England--you keep me dancin' most every Sunday at The Cuff. Thanks for keeping classic disco alive in Seattle.
