O.C. Smith was born 1932 in Mansfield, LA. Died 11/24/2001 in Los Angeles CA of a heart attack. Best known for hits "Hickory Holler's Tramp",(1968) "Little Green Apples"(1968, which was awarded a Grammy in 1969) & "La La Peace Song" (1974), which received quite a bit of play in the Discos.
