Jay Baldarelli (Geo)

San Francisco Disco DJ (1965? - Present)

discoThis inventive DJ dynamo was a favorite fill in at various San Francisco venues like Trocadero Transfer, Dreamland, the End-Up, but became best known for his stint at the I-Beam, making great use of the video projections. All the hip dancers would go to wherever he played, and I was one of them.

I spoke to him briefly at the Trocadero Transfer reunion, Remember the Party, and he says he doesn't spin publicly anymore. He said he way too wasted back in the day to manage his DJ career and is a businessman now.

He's still aloof and inegmatic. He goes by the name Geo now.

I remember he was buddies with Phyllis Hyman. He played If You Could Read My Mind by Viola Wills every night, as well as Can We Try Again by Technique.
