Matt Consola

DJ / Producer / Remixer (Born 1968 - Present)

Matt Consola Completely devoid of the politics, ego and attitude which run rampant in the music industry, Matt Consola is a sincere and genuine musician/DJ, who consequently has a long and impressive list of credentials and accomplishments.

Americas hottest clubs and circuit events have depended on internationally renowned producer, remixer and local personality Matt Consola as their resident or headlining DJ. A veteran of over 15 years, Matt got his start in San Jose, California after moving from Brooklyn, New York as a child. Once in San Jose, Matt becgan DJing as a hobby thanks to the encouragement of his DJ cousin in New York. From Mobile gigs to a radio show on San Jose's KSJS and KWSS fm, Matt would emmerse himself in anything New Wave & Dance Music related.

While he would occasionally play clubs as appearances for his radio show, Matt's major focus was on his highly sucessful mobile dj business, Consola Entertianment and The Windy City DJ's. It wasn't until 1991, when matt contracted a severe case of Cancer, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, that he began to re-evaluate his priority and shoot for his dreams. So after finishing an exhausting 6 months of chemotherapy just three days shy of Christmas, 1991, Matt made himself a promise and a goal, and set his sights on the San Francisco club scene.

It wasn't long before Matt was headlining or playing one-off's at such night life institutions as METROPOLIS, PLEASUREDOME, THE OASIS, ASIA, THE G-SPOT and COLOSSUS.

As a hometown favorite to San Francisco, Matt has headlined America's largest Pride and Street Fairs, three of San Francisco's Pride Festivals and two Folsom Street Fairs, performing to crowds of over 200,000 on the country's largest outdoor dance floors and headlined San Francisco's internationally renowned annual UP YOUR ALLEY (Dore Alley) official after party, PLAY@FUSION as well as America's largest Bear Weekends & Street Fair's, Lazy Bear and Hairrison Street Fair, where he currently resides as a resident DJ for Castro Presents' SWEAT events and Hairrison's "CAKE."

Internationally acclaimed, Matt plays at many of the world's most popular club and circuit events in England, Greece, Canada, Ireland and Australia.

Matt is constantly in motion, criss-crossing the United States and Canada playing to sold out crowds. His popularity has been attached to such events and clubs as the now infamous Scorpio Uprising (Vancouver), Crobar presents Anthem (Miami), White Party (Palm Springs), MASS (San Francisco), GIANT (San Francisco), SWEAT (San Francisco), SANCTUARY (San Francisco), Sundance (Russian River), Pleasuredome (San Francisco), PLAY@FUSION (San Francisco), Gay Days @ Great America (SF Bay Area), Boys On The Bay (San Francisco), The Jester's Ball T-Dance @ Crobar (Chicago), Oxygen (Denver), The Cuff (Seattle) and B.E.D.(Miami).

With great honor and privilege, Matt currently holds national residencies & multiple recurrences at the following hot spots: SANCTUARY (San Francisco), GIANT (San Francisco), SWEAT (San Francisco), MIGHTY (San Francisco), Nitrogen (Denver), Crobar (Miami/Chicago), Ground Zero (Atlanta), FRESH! (Hawaii), and FUSION, San Francisco's largest Sunday T-Dance. Matt currently resides as the official West Coast DJ for ALTOIDS, the curiously strong mint.

Matt was a prominent mix-show DJ throughout the early 90's with radio station KSJS FM and a nationally syndicated Windy City DJ through station KWSS-FM. He held a six year tenure with DANCE MUSIC AUTHORITY Magazine (DMA), one of the nations most renowned and internationally revered dance music publication, as well as a voting member of the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy (The Grammy's).

Matt Consola's credibility as a live performance DJ extends beyond the circuit to the production studio.  As a founding partner and producer of the dance-chart label, Redzone Records (www.redzonerecords.com), and a member of the UBL Recordings Group (www.ublmusic.com), Matt has co-produced and remixed several Billboard and DMA Magazine hit singles with business partner, mega-producer Keith Haarmeyer,  such as "Ooh Child" by Trish Vogel, "All I Ask of You 2000" by Vicki Shepard, "That Man of Mine" by Sugarshop featuring Cindy Mizelle, and the current 2003 #1 dance chart hit single "I Got A Feelin'" by Vicki Shepard.  In addition, Matt and his partners have licensed, branded, promoted and distributed over 25 highly successful dance compilations for their own labels, radio stations, clubs and national events.  In 2000 Matt expanded his business to include the servicing of corporate America.  It was at this point he was granted a wonderful opportunity to produce for Vanity Fair.

Matt recently embarked on his newest remix project that is a highlight to his production career, contributing original production and a remix on the #1 dance chart hit single "I Got A Feelin'" by Vicki Shepard, the single kicking off the release of Vicki Shepard's Greatest Hits Remixes album, THE ESSENTIAL VICKI SHEPARD, also produced by Matt Consola. In addition to contributing to it's original production, Matt's Anthem Vocal Dub, was featured in an Abercrombie & Fitch advertising campaign, is currently being considered for use in an upcoming episode of America's Queer As Folk, and is featured in an documentary film about one of San Francisco's most successful clubs, "CLUB Q-The Legendary Dance Party For Women," screened at both the San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival and OUTFEST 2003 in Los Angeles.
