Miami Disco and Radio DJ (Feb, 9, 1957 - Present)
Joe Lenders began his career in the early 1970's as a radio DJ working a number of Miami area radio stations. At night, Joe worked as a night club DJ. Frequently booked at Big Daddy's lounges, Joe worked at over a dozen Miami night clubs.
In 1978 Joe was hired as the first DJ at the Omni International Hotel's new nightclub, Scaramouche. There he became a legend in the Miami dance scene. Sometimes referred to as "The Needle" by other DJ's, Joe received the nickname from Bo Crane beacuse as Bo said "the first thing to touch a new record is the needle".
Joe also is credited with numerous remixes and was one of the areas first Disco Consultants helping design numerous clubs such as Club Manhattan and Club Menage.
Joe left the music industry in 1983 to become a filmmaker. He continues to produce independent feature films and other productions from his studios on the West coats of Florida.

YOUR COMMENTS ON Joe Lenders
That said, there were a lot of people that want your attention when you are in a hot club and I could not be as friendly and warm with every single person I met.
About being a good DJ... I don't know if I was or not.. it was more than 30 years ago. Let's assume I was an "average" DJ that was lucky enough to work in a great club. I worked many clubs over 8 years so I must not have been totally terrible. Sorry you had bad memories of me. I apologize for not having been a friendlier person 30 years ago. It must have really made an impact on you to remember it for so long. Best wishes and warmest regards.
