YOUR COMMENTS ON Hustle With Russell

I wanted to email you to see if you remember us but I couldn't figure out how to send an email directly to you. You did so many of my family parties years ago and I wanted to see how you and Judy were doing. The last time I saw you I was probably 11 years old. I know you will remember my family if not me. If you can, email me so we can talk.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Do you remember MacArthur's on Jericho Tpke? That was another popular LI disco in the late 70s.

Yes, I remember MacArthur's. I was like a piece of furniture there on the weekends. It was in Smithtown I think. I would drive from Deer Park, past Greenlawn and E. Northport, on to Jericho Tpke and after a long winding road there it was . . across the street from a steakhouse, I believe. My sister and I had carte blanche there. They'd hold a parking spot for us and on a couple of occasions they let me tend the bar in the back. I had a great time, dancing while serving drinks and making nice tips. And my sister helped out in the DJ booth.

Actually MacArthur's first opened
up in Bohemia across the street from
the Airport (MacArthur's Airport).
After that location burnt to the ground
MacArthur's owners moved to Rt 25 in
Smithtown ( just west of the Old Willets
path and Rt25 intersection)
I was a dance instructor at MacArthur's in Smithtown. ( i still have my STAFF
shirt)
The new MacArthur's was in fact almost
directly across the street from the
Treehouse disco which was ALSO a
excellent club. I also used to go to clubs such as "Penrods",
"Down and under" "Emminons" "Limetree"
in Ronkonkoma, "Spit" "Oak Beach Inn"
"2001" in East Islip, "The Whistle Stop"
in Smithtown and "58th Fighter Group"
The Stonybrook Inn was a nice club.
There was some club in Medford on
Medford ave, that was popular too.
(can't recall the name)

I never tried
to get into Studio54 because anyone
who went to the 54 also went to all the
Hamptons clubs too, so you could see
them all in the Hamptons clubs,
and you didn't
have to deal with those schmucks
Rebel and Schrader keeping regular
folks from entering the 54.
