I didn't know too much about her other than we were cousins (on my father's side). 6 months prior to her death, my brother passed away, whom was pretty close to Brandi. Donny informed me that she wasn't doing too well health wise and thought that it would be a good ideal for me to meet her for the first time beings though I was singing @ local clubs in Philadelphia @ that time and he thought that we could get together and engage in jam sessions. Deep inside I wanted to jump @ the opportunity to meet the cousin that everyone told me about-informing me that your voice sounds so much like "Peachy's" aka Brandi, however, fear from not being close to my father's side of the family took over and I never took the advice that my brother begged of me. Today, alot of mixed emotions are running through my heart, my mind....Peachy, RIP, We will meet, one day....until then, I will continue to sing for US and keep you near

your cousin,

I remember the first time I heard Brandi's voice on "Fantasy", back when it was first released in the early 80s. I was so hooked and tried to emulate her singing style. She was such a beautiful sista with a beautiful voice to match. When I heard she had passed, and the tragic situations she had gone through in her life before her death, it hurt me so badly to know how someone who brought so much joy to others, had to suffer so much in life. God only knows and knows best. But I just pray that now her soul has finally found peace. RIP Brandi. Neither you nor your music will ever be forgoten.

I miss Brandy.

i worked with her for years at Alpha International Studios and Sigma Sound in Philly recording & mixing almost all of her tracks & projects with various producers and WMOT/Fantasy, Fat Larry's Band, Slick, etc.

She was one of those talented people, a sweetheart, a friend who somehow lost her way along the path to greatness. i was stunned when I heard that she had passed on, and as i said, I miss her.

I have been looking for the artist that sang "Sunrise", back in or around, 1981, and my nephew finally found her for me; Ms. Brandi Wells. I am sorry to have learned that she has been called to sing from the clouds above the 'Sunrise', because she had a beautiful and unusual voice.
I still have yet to find the original print of "Sunrise", but I am even more compelled to find it now that I know she is a part of the 'Sunrise' warming the children as they play.
God Bless You, Brandi!!

My dad bought 21st Century Fox back when it was released in 85 and I loved every track. I still have the cassette tape I made of the album some 20 plus years ago. I am very sad to hear Brandi has passed and from what I'm reading she had some rough times as well. God Bless you.

My Name is Robert Freeman Jr, born and raised in Chester, Pa. I once fought out of Philly back in the 70's as Eliot Freeman. I was known to many people as Eliot during just before the disco era.
I found this post here tonight by Jeffrey Tucker whom I am just realizing that it may be the same tucker that I once went to school with years ago, along with Derek Stokes and others. If so, I hope he see this post and make contact with me. I am now in Katy texas just outside of Houston.

I don't know why but tonight, I was wondering and thinking of Peaches, who many knew by her professional name of Brandi Wells. Perhaps getting older and gone for so many years from the place of your childhood will do that to you. Now 54 this past Sept 22, I thought about my younger days and when I was at the Ward's Grill during perhaps the 70's or early 80's, I don't recall, when Peaches and her sister Yvonne, along with others, came in and we all sat together at a table in the back of the club. Peaches had a ready smile and warm greeting for me as well as her sister. SHe was coupled up with a guy and she seem so sad. To this day I couldn't tell whether she was a little high of just on a natural high for she never slurred her words. never could tell. But, she had and air of saddness that was all about her and I felt for her.

I recall when I was told that she had lost her children I believe in a drowning in the bath tub.

I used to visit Yvonne and her mother when she was living at the Benjamin Bannerker Apts on 7th and Jeffrey St. I used to live on the corner of that Street back in 1978.

Penny Thomas, who is my first cousin, (her mother being my father's sister) were friends with the Pinders. That was Brandi's family last name.

I remember working at Lasko fan company in Westchester, Pa, during the years of 1979 or 1980, and brandi had a song out on the radio air waves called, 'SunRise', beautiful. I also remember how one of my female co-workers who knew that I knew Brandi, used to tell me how she loved that song.

Yes, I was just reminiscing about my hometown of chester, Pa, when I was young, thinking about Brandi Wells, who once gave us joy when she sang and yet, could not find happiness in this life for herself, thinking about a time when I lived during the days of Peaches, Ms Brandi Wells.

Rest in peace, although I never personally met me, I still miss you.
