YOUR COMMENTS ON Arthur Prysock

A Hartford, CT native, Prysock's voice was unmistakable. My favorite Prysock tune is "Close Your Eyes." I sing it frequently with a group from Hartford, CT. If he'd been promoted more heavily, he could have been another Eckstein. So nice to know someone else appreciates him online. So peculiar it's on a disco-related site.

Thanks for the above info. Wasn't aware he was from Hartford. You'd be surprised at the number of Jazz and Soul artists and musicians who dabbled in Disco music during the 1970s.

He's not a native of Hartford, but of Spartenburg. When he left the Carolina's he went to Hartford where he meet Buddy Johnson. With whom he got his start in the music world. I to like "Close your eyes", but I also enjoy "Since I Fell for You". There are many others.

I'm now eating a big fat crow, standing up, corrected. Thanks Jeanine. Can you tell us more? "Close Your Eyes" is a song I've wanted to re-mix into a dance tune for a long time.

Please people, Lou Rawls was much younger then Arthur. Arthur was a veteran of many nights way before DISCO every started. He bounced around from band to band for decades.'When Love Is New" was just one of many soulful songs he recorded. That record sold millions world wide, easily his most successful recording. But he made his name and his living by playing slow, soulful ballads. He was a great "SLOW DANCE" artist. I remember in my youth, slow dancin to his music. Thanks, and God Bless.
