YOUR COMMENTS ON Bill Motley

Last I heard Bill was living in the L.A. area as of 2002. Has anybody heard anything about him recently??? There is an upcoming Trocadero reunion party on 4-18-04 and we are trying to get in tough with former Troc dj's.

I knew Bill years ago when he used to go dancing at Troc. To my knowledge, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, he passed away in the eighties...

Ifound the following information on another website in regards to Bill:

Moby d*** dissolved soon after Bill Motley left the company in 1984. He retained the rights to the Boys Town Gang, but got sick soon after and died in 1986.

Bill Motley was a person I never met, never even talked to. that doesn't mean I didn't know who he was, nor his importance to DISCO. Besides being one of the first STAR deejays from the west coast, he was an amazing producer who gave us some simply fantastic recordings of what DISCO music is all about. The BoysTown Gang was in heavy rotation for over a year. He would take classic songs, and make classic DISCO versions. CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF OF YOU is my favorite example of this. Bill, your family and friends will miss you, DISCO has lost one of its heroes. GOD BLESS.
