YOUR COMMENTS ON Dan Hartman

Each time I hear "Relight My Fire", I have wonderful memories of the disco years, when I was in my 20's, and having lots of fun. I have sadness in my heart though when I think of Dan Hartman, dying so young. But, hopefully, he is with all of those who have also passed on, and I pray that his fire is always being re-lit.

As an old time disco, dance and funk spinner from the late 70's to the present, I still manage to play 'Relight My Fire' at most disco parties we put on and the older people from that era always have that twinkle in thier eye of memories when that song first came out...

Including myself...

Wow, this was shock to me, I just heard them playing his song on the radio last weekend. Did not know he died. RIP

What a fantastic persona. He wrote so many great tunes, including Loleatta's Holloway "Love Sensation".

He went to high school near where I live in Harrisburg, PACentral Dauphin.

Fame did change him. He was generous of heart and mind.

Instant Replay, Hands Down, Relight My Fire, Keep The Fire Burning and many more in between kept Disco and Dance Music afloat!

R.I.P.

some of the greatest songs that came out of the disco era,,,,I remember waiting for the UPS truck to come at the long island record pool meeting place because I was told we were getting the new extended remix of relight my fire...another lifetime as they say.

The 12" Remix Of "Relight My Fire" Was A Monster In The Clubs. The Effects Added To The Mix Was Always Hightened When The Ligth Shows Were Sync'd To The Music....Fire!

This is a beautiful anthem wrote by a fantastic singer , music and producer , each time I hear it I feel like I'm young again , there is nothing like the incredible intro from Relight my fire it's like keep on going direct to the most fantastic disco climax !!!

What a shame. R.I.P.
Instant Replay was one of the best disco songs ever, in my opinion! :)

Dan Hartman was excellent, but was under-rated vastly. RELIGHT MY FIRE was just one of the many hits they had. There were also plenty of his records that I played, that never became HITS outside my clubs. Like they say, the good, sometimes they die young.

I love both Instant Replay and Relight my Fire they both remind me of High School - disco classics. I really love I Can Dream About You - too great jam, one my all time favorite songs. Dan Hartman had a beautiful voice and was a great song writer. RIP man!

Loleatta Holloway told me she had a very special bond with Dan and when she spoke of him I could hear the sadness in her voice.
He was a very special person and a great talent.
