Bobby DJ contributed to the music selection for the Casablanca Records and Filmworks soundtrack "Thank God It's Friday." Is there a listing of remixes by Bobby DJ?

One of the resident DJs at The Ice Palace in NYC on w57th. He was outstanding and probably a huge influence on Frank Hulihan.........

Bobby also did alot of remixes for Salsoul and assoc. labels.

My all time favorite remix he did was " I got the hots for you" by Moment of Truth, which is on the B-side 12" single. [Salsoul] Great Roller skating record!!

He will be missed.....

I met Bobby when i was playing at Studio One in L.A. back in 75.
Great guy, we became friends instantly.
Was a nice a guy as he was a very Talented DJ.

How did Bobby die?

He died of AIDS (see in the Aids quilt)

In 75 & 76 I went to the Billboard Disco Conventions heard and saw Bobby, great DJ.
In (I thnk, that era is hazy at best!) 1976 one of my friends who worked at the only 12” Record Shop in town, who knew I was going to the Billboard Show asked for a ride to Cleveland, his hometown. I said sure, why not it's just a bit out of the way. On the way he mentioned a “Party” in Columbus he would like to “stop by”, so I went this party in at this huge church made a club called Rudely Elegant (Corbin Reynolds was the owner). But the DJ was Bobby DJ. So I invited myself to the booth re-introduced myself and watched/hung-out all night. Absorbing everything he did and watched the floor react, That night was my real DJ education. I though… If I can learn to mix ½ as well as this nobody in my hometown of Dayton would be able to compete. I’m now 50 years old and still making a living spinning.
So a big Thanks to Bobby DJ.
Wish I could tell him in person. Or maybe to a DISCO DJ reunion party with him spinnin for a few hours.

Yes Bobby DJ was so nice, one of the first DJ's that died of Aids. I gave him his first GOLD record for breaking one of my first disco records - summer of 1974 - Fire Island Pines for 20th Centry Records Barry White's "Love Unlimited"

What a great D.J. Bobby was. When I first started going to DISCOS, I happened to go to INFINITY, when Jimmy Burgess was there. we became friends, like a mentor and his student. I remember Jimmy telling me that Bobby Guttadaro was the best deejay he knew. So if I believed that Jimmy was the best, and he is telling me that it is Bobby, I certainly didn't argue. As the years passed, I would routinely see Bobby in action at various Clubs, parties and conventions. He was great. That is what everyone said about him. It was true, but he was so much more than that. SALSOUL RECORDS wouldn't had been the early success story they are if Bobby didn't do his thing. And DISCONET, in the beginning, he was all they had, and it was enough to succeed. I was heart-broken when his lack of self-control led to his passing, but we all took risks didn't we. God bless you, I am sure you are the lead deejay in the biggest DISCO there is, heaven.

Bobby is in my opinion one of the best to ever spin..
It's a shame the good and talented die young.
