What can you say about this gentleman other than he was "Motown".

What an unbelievable talent. 1 of only a handful of Motown artists to leave the fold yet continue to be successful on new record labels.

If you listen closely to his songs you will hear his pain shining through, touching.

''What's Going On'' is my favorite album of life. He was just so in touch with what was going on that that album still resonates today. That he could go from that, and then do ''Let's Get It On'' with an equal amount of passion just says how deep that man was. It's hard to imagine my life without those two albums. That's how important they are to me....Thank God for Marvin Gaye!

Marvin Gaye I love you. I never knew you. I didn't even discover your music until the 1980s, but it's still relevent today. Mercy Mercy Me (Ecology Song) is one of my favorite. I play it on my ipod at least once a month.

Got to give it up.
You're all I need to get by.
Ain't no mountain high enough.

Oh... and "What's going on". That one could be the theme song for this decade. So many more. Your music is timeless. Your voice was lovely. You were precious.

I'm sorry about the way you went out, but I pray that you are dancing in the heavenlies and singing praises to God for the beautiful voice and tender soul that He gave you.

Marvin recorded a beautiful version of "His eye is on the sparrow" too. If you haven't heard it, you should.

His lyrics:
Oh why.. why should I feel so dicouraged
I wanna know why should the shadows come mm mm hmmm
Oh tell me why why why
Why should I feel so so lonely
So lonely
And long long long for a heaven and a home
Oh yeah
Since Jesus
Since Jesus
Since Jesus is my portion
I wanna tell the world
My comfort
My comfort friend, oh is he
Please stay with me Jesus
I know.. oh I know.. His eye is on the sparrow
Yes it is
And I know Jesus watches
He watches over me
Oh thank you Jesus
I sing
People I can sing my song
Cuz I'm happy
Help me Jesus
Oh I sing
Lord I sing because I'm free
Oh Jesus Jesus Jesus
His eye...
His eye is on the sparrow
Yes it is it's on the sparrow
And I know.. Jesus.. Jesus watches me.

Jesus loves you Marvin. So do we. God bless Marvin Gaye.

It was just like yesterday when Marvin and one of my best friends Obie Benson formally of the Four Tops got together and wrote "Whats Going ON", and Detroit Lion football players Len Berry and Mel Farr done the background vocals in Marvin living room.

Yes, "all of us in the businees and all of your fans really mess you Marvin, this week in Detroit (1-7-2007) the radio station had a Marvin Gaye weekend in conjuction with the play produced by Marvin sister."

My wife Joyce Dozier McNichols and I convinced Marvin ex bother-in-law Gordan Banks to summit his song as the B side of Sexual Healing instead of giving the song to a new up and coming group and Marvin went with it and it was Gordon biggest pay day in the music industry.

This is just one of many ways Marvin helped other reach their dreams.

I WANT YOU but I can't have you, was my favorite Marvin Gaye song. But that id like my favorite flavor of ice cream, I love chocolate, but there are so many other s that I love as well. SEXUAL HEALING was monumental as well. HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE was another. I could go on and on and on! It is a shame that guns and violence take root in our society the way it does. It took MARVIN from us, for that there is sadness, but his music lives on through all his fabulous recordings. GOD BLESS YOU>
