Kenny Yorke

A brief bio on New York City area DJ and sound specialist Kenny Yorke.

Disco DJ Kenny Yorke My name is Kenny Yorke and I started by selling records across the street from my High School (Erasmus Hall on Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn). Then I worked on Fulton Street at the home of WWRL (AM radio) playing records for the peolpe to buy. I Worked for WABC Radio in 1968-70 with Cousin Brucie, Bobaloo, Dan Ingam and all the Bubble gum DJs.

I started to go to the first Disco, Neptha, Hippo and taught Ellen Michaels how to dance. I worked for Rosner Custom Sound & Richard Long where we did the Sound Systems for all the New York City area clubs. I built Discos for Elephas, Lemon Tree, Magique... I also mixed at them and did the lighting and Effects for all of them.

I was funny looking and loved the music, the lighting, the dancing, the people... We need to do it again

YOUR COMMENTS ON Kenny Yorke

Kenny,

It's good to see you still can spin tall tales about your Sound system installation credentials .They're bogus you never worked for Richard Long & Assoc. You were a go-fer for the owners of Elephas and you tried to get your fingers into the systems of Lemon Tree & Magique with no success. Try to state your own accomplishments truthfully and don't embelish 'cause there is always someone out there that knows the truth and is willing to set the record straight.

I took your job away from you after the first theft of the sound system gee we never found out who took that equipment ? You had nothing to do after that .You should be thanking me for your job with Richard ..You have nothing to do but lash out at peolple and lie on Christmas Day.
