YOUR COMMENTS ON Alan Gohlke

I remember Alan from The Meadowbrook and of course The Soap Factory. He was a pretty good and influential deejay in his days, What is he up to now?

Hello Vyniljunkie - Thanks for the kind words. I live in Dallas (Plano) now. Since I have left the NJ/NY area I have lived in Chicago, West Palm Beach, Los Angeles and now Dallas. I am the CEO of a national commercial roofing company. As you know I spun records in NY/NJ clubs before I moved to Chicago and then spun records for another year or two in Chicago before my day job had to take priority. I sure miss spinning (if they even call it that now?).

Alan, I remember when the Trammps played at The Soap Factory, I knew a few of them Personally, and they kept telling me about this deejay called Alan, who impressed them. I knew you, and your talent, but played along, acting like I never heard of you. they would say something like,"he's as good as some of you City guys", I'd egg him on,"no way". They would then start to really pour it on. You must have played their music a lot!! They loved you!! So did a lot of my friends from Hudson County. Glad you're doing so well. Open an office in Miami, we need roofers every September after the Hurricanes rip through South Florida!! I KNOW that your fondest memories were the MEADOWBROOK!!!

Hi Alan,

My name is Andy Kahn. I wrote and produced "Hot Shot" by Karen Young in 1978. I'd be interested in knowing if you have, or might know someone who has the video of Karen's performance of "Hot Shot" on the weekly television show taped at the Soap Factory. I can be contacted at hotshotakb@aol.com I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Andy
