does anyone know of a good free beatmatching mixing software
out there?

mixes & remixes...
I don't know of any free programs.
But Acid Pro 4 formerly by Sonic Foundry now Sony Media (is quick-ish & easy to use),
Ableton Live (is probably better, switchable more realtime loops), Cool Edit Pro 2 (now Adobe Audition, is good quality, but slow).

MixMeister has a very good free downloadable BPM'er.

If using acid pro 4, try not to mix any more than 2 tracks together at any given moment, it wont keep up with demands... >:#

Just download demo's to suss them out...
they all have sucky points!

I've been using the MixMeiser Pro 6 and it's great for long overlays or putting a mix cd together quickley. I have to admit I feel a little quilty using it sometimes and it takes the fun out of manually mixing your cd, but it does come in handy as a tool for other projects....
