Dj's did you ever screw up a mix so bad you got booed or people glared into the dj booth with a look of disbelief?

Did you ever try a mix you thought would work but ended up sounding awful?

Selections included Before I let go - Maze, I found lovin' - Fatback, I want to thank you - Alicia Meyers, Love Thang - First Choice and I'm caught up - Inner Life. I played those songs in succession, but the crowd booed.

The reason was that earlier in the evening, the main DJ played Hip/Hop and R&B then the next DJ played Reggae/Rhythms. When it was my turn to spin, I played the before mentioned records to which the crowd then booed when I played my last song. It was a younger crowd from 21 - 30 something. Those who were in attendance, including the promoters who hired me were also in shock.

The talk prior to the party was being able to hear the classics from back in the days.
Unfortunately, the crowd who followed the promoters, previous parties attracted crowds who weren't used to the classics, only Hip/Hop and Reggae Rhythms.

When the booing was heard after my set was over, I just packed my records and left.
I had a on my face though, because I was already paid the balance of my set before I started playing.
