No arguement here. The music industry must cater to the demands of the public if it wants to survive, and let's face it, the public is fine with compressed formats. Actually, by tying in something they are familiar with (AAC, aka MP4) with something they are not (DVD-A), they might just ensure the survival of the latter.

I've yet to hear AAC compression, so I will reserve judgement on that. However, my understanding was that the primary benefit was that it could compress to much smaller file sizes than comparable MP3.
