| I was wondering if anyone here (who mix records) have done this: Play Side A of Alec Constandinos' "Romeo and Juliet" and the end of it, mix it with Part 3 (on Side 2). I have a promo 12" of R&J and this is what was done on that version. I have the abridged promo 12" plus the entire 2 sides on CD.

| Well, Which 12 inch promo. There are 2. A 4min one that is a single type edit of side a of the lp. Then there is the shitty 13 min 12 inch that poorly edits side a and throws the beginning of side b at the end at the wrong pitch(pitched way too fast). I've never did what you are talking about I dont think? (where does pt 3 begin? is that the ending with the sad music with the beat and the lyric "I beleved in our love...."??) I have made my own edit before playing all the lyrics of the album and editing alot of instrumental stuff out. My version i did one time was about 17 min. long and summed up the whole LP. If anyone never heard the song before they would have thought that this was the full thing and it was not edited(I tested it on someone to know that my mix was good). Casablanca did a shitty job on their 12. As well as their poor shitty extended version of 'Chase' by Giorgio Moroder. Just editing the record back very choppy to almost the begining and playing it through again. I thought the record skipped(it's that bad if you never heard it).

| For crap editing, you can't get much worse than the 7" edits of "Accidental Lover/I Found Love". Completely random edits; you'd swear the needle was jumping all over the place. |

| You must be talking about that import 45. The US one I have is just fine. I found love is a good 3:45 edit. It just makes it sound like this was the original version and the LP is the 12 mix. There are only 2 chops in this and they are bairly noticalbe unless you are really used to the 17 min vers. As for Accidental Lover, its not edited at all. It's just pt.1. It fades right as the first bass break is comming in. Id like to hear this shit 45 everyone talks about. I have one import Costandinos 45 on the way to me now(w/picture sleeve) for 'You Must Be Love". I was curios to hear it, so I bought it. Also as soon as I send off for it I'll have the Japan import 45 of "Romeo And Juliet" w/pic sleve. The cover looked cool and i wonder how the hell you can make a 45 out of this track. It says pt1 and pt.2 I cant wait to hear this to laugh at it.

| Wouldn't the version of "R&J" that's on the Casablanca box set be considered a 45 version? Of course, if you're serious about the song, the only way to hear it is the album version. There is also a greatest hits CD by Alec Costandinos/Love and Kisses that includes the full R&J LP plus "How Much I Love You" and "I Found Love."

Having said that, the sound quality on the CD is pretty horrid. It was obviously mastered from cassettes. |

| Over $100?!! You've gotta be kidding! The next time I need fast cash...! Maybe I should consider burning my own copy from vinyl (as opposed to cassettes) and giving eBay a go. _________________ "...a once in a lifetime feeling that returns every week..." [ This Message was edited by: Jeff H on 2002-05-03 13:05 ] |

| Yea, the quality does suck on this Alec CD. Romeo And Juliet for one is pitched too fast. And Accidental Lover is chopped. I dont own an original but I got a copy of it on a cdr from an old friend. The version on the Casablanca box I always thought was the 45 because thats the one id always hear on the radio in the early 90's but, its a 12inch promo edit, the 1st one i spoke of.
