Default For Converting Your Vinyl or Cassettes to CD

Here is a new device which appears to make the entire process of recording to your hard drive a breeze.Anyone familiar with it?The price seems quite reasonable for what it purports to do.

OriginalBigM: Be wary. 30 feet of unbalanced cable is not going to do the signal any favours (even at -10dB level). Far better to go for as short a length as possible.
Otherwise, haven't boxes like this been around for ages?
It will certainly save a lot of frustration if nothing else.

I don't know this is the first one I've seen that circumvents the method by which you connect through the soundcard. It appears to be a new inovation. The company has a long time reputation of providing other quality high end components. So I was curious as to whether or not someone was familiar with this piece of hardware.

No, it's not new. It's simply a low cost USB audio interface, which others have made. It's a clever repackaging aimed at those who want to copy their vinyl onto CD with the least amount of hassle.

Agreed, proper soundcards with breakout boxes have been around for ages. And a good PCI soundcard like the M-Audio 2496 will still give excellent results, even though it is internal.
