Default Is it the Stereo or the CD?

This last couple of days I've been having some problems with my stereo not reading some CDs, more especifically burned CDs that I've made in the last months. Sometimes besides not reading the burned CDs it doesn't read Original Factory CDs and marks NO DISC. I've tried playing the CDs that can't be read by my stereo on my computer and on another stereo I have at home and they can be heard very well. Also some of these burned CDs I listened to them on my stereo very well 2 days ago and now I can't. I've always used the same brand for burning CDs and burned them at 8X and therefore had no problems. I also played a CD I made 2 years ago and it was perfectly read. I can still play very well the original factory CDs. So I would like to know if the problem is with my stereo or the CDs?

Probably the stereo. A CD player needs a stronger laser to read a CD-R due to the lower reflectivity. So if the laser starts to fail, the first thing that will happen is that CD-Rs won't play.

Thanks a lot Graham, I didn't know that about the lasers. At least the problem is not with the CDs :)
