| Well a friend of mine gave me his Reason CD's because he didn't understand it and he figured I might be able to. After installing it I gave it a shot, and whadayaknow? I can't understand how this thing works either! So many gadgets and lots of impressive stuff, I got scared to try! I don't know where to begin with it. Comes with a rather lengthy manual as well but it may as well be written in Greek for all I know, LOL! So with all that being said, I'd like to know how you feel about these two gadgets if you've used one or both of them. I'd really love any help and tips from Reason users that know how to use it well, because I'd like to start using it as well so HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

| yo what's up. pcdj and reason are kind of apples and oranges. pcdj is basically one of the professional digital dj'ing softwares. You can 'dj' with reason, but reason is a full-on electronic music production suite. I've used reason since v1.0 came out in 2001. It's awesome. Give it a chance and you will be jammin on that thing. But without a midi controller, reason is basically frustrating. The real fun begins when you add a controller/keyboard to it. Reason operates on a visual model of studio boxes being strung together - that's the beauty of it. So in the old days, you'd have a big old compressor and then you'd have a big sampler box, and some kind of fx processor and they'd all be on top of each other. Same idea with reason. Reason, in my opinion, is artware. software+art. it's amazing. I like it a lot more than ableton. but that's another story. |

| So I'm guessing Reason wouldn't work unless an instrument was hooked up to it? Too bad for me I don't have a keyboard but what about a turntable? LOL! Yeah all those virtual gadgets makes me dizzy, I'll stick to PCDJ for awhile.
