Hi! Several months ago, I started a thread about sharing mixes and mixing info. It got some interest and a few people shared some of the mixes they did or do. Since I'm going back to DJing (but just for fun) and since there are several new members since that first thread, I thought it would be cool to see what kind of mixes you have. Any volunteers?

He means blending one song into another. We call that mixing in the U.S.

Thanks NRG! Yes Massimo that's what I meant; blending one song into another just like a DJ would do. Since I am going back to DJing, I'm interested in learning about other people's mixes. I do need to add that I'm going back to DJing just for fun, not professionaly so nobody needs to be concerned; I will not be competing for anybody's business!

What are your gigs going to be like, no frills dance parties or is it going to be dj bar stuff, meaning playing vinyls to fashion casualities not dancing but chatting around expensive cocktails and sipping lattes, despite the fact that one should never add milk to coffee after noon? Dj bar affairs tend to be smoother, slower in BPMs and overall more chilled. Most tend to spin a lot of Curtis Mayfield and lots of soul in general, hissing hi-hat disco from 1975-76, Brass Construction, Jocelyn Brown mixed in with the usual Ibiza/Cafe de Paris/etc styled downtempo. But if you're going to be doing a sweaty, horny dance session and do it with Disco with the capital D and not KC & Sunshine Band or The Bee Gees, try this banging, tongue firmly in the cheek seque of faves that opens with a throbbing "sluts in bri-nylon nighties bitten first by leering libertines and then by vampires"- scenario, 128-130 BPM, minimum pitching required:
Kebekelektrik: Bolero
Serge Gainsbourg: Sea, Sex and Sun
Claudia Cardinale: Love Affair
The Vamps: Disco Blood - instrumental
Giorgio: I Wanna Funk With You Tonite
Cerrone: Love In C Minor
Marisa Mell: Lady O
Madleen Kane: Forbidden Love
MBT Soul: Chase!
Munich Machine: Get On The Funk Train
Easy Going: Baby I Love You
Noel: I Need A Man
Amanda Lear: Queen of Chinatown
DD Sound: Cafe (preferably original mix)
Chocolat's: Discolats Medley

Thanks Jussik for your input. I know some of the songs but some others I am not familiar with. Interesting artists and titles...

As far as the kind of parties we are going to have these will be just small gatheirngs in our house with some friends and neighbors. Nothing too fancy.

Massimo, I'd love to hear your tapes. Trading may not be too hard because my wife's relatives live in Corato, just outside Bari, and we may be able to arrange something with their help. Maybe you can send them the copies and then they can send them to me. Also, my mother in law is with us right now but she'll be going to Italy in 3 weeks (not a moment too soon! ) so I may be able to send you some tapes or CDRs and maybe some pictures of my new DJ set-up. It looks pretty cool with all the lights and everything else. E-mail your address so that I can send you this stuff.
