| My task manager is disabled. I am running XP Professional and a dell inspiron 5150 lap top. I believe it is a virus because task manager does work in safe mode. I used both stop sign, adware, and norton and it did not detect the virus. When click on systems and go to ctl alt dlt options and enable it nothing happens. I am not sure what do? I will try to do anything before reformating because that is long and tedious with the amount of stuff I have on the laptop. Thanks! |

| Hi Mixtape, You could try and check if the policy to remove the taskmanager has been set You have to look in the registry or via gpedit.msc see here for howto : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555480/en-us or here http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kba...XPHomePro.html Maybe it is not a virus, has it worked at a given time ? If it is a company laptop the administrator maybe locked it down ?
