Default Ask others to identify a remixer :-)

Does anyone know the remix credits for Oleta Adams "Circle Of One, American Dance Remix" (1991). And the version I have on a comp is 3:40, I assume there was a longer version? Could it be one of the Def Mix boys?

Cheers!

Hello Maarten,

Well I’m a few months late but, I Just pulled out the US12" of Oleta Adams "Circle Of One” (Fontana 868 163-1) and it’s mixed by Yvonne Turner, indeed it does sound a bit like a Def mix.
It has 4 mixes as follows:
Side 1: Full Circle 12" 6:25, Hot Mix 12" 4:15
Side 2: Yvonne’s Circle Club Mix 6:03, Circle Dub 5:23

While I was looking for the “Rhythm of Life” CD single I found the UK CD Single of "Circle Of One” (Fontana UK: OLECD5 – INT. 868 439-2) it has 4 mixes as follows:
1: Circle Of One (Remix) 3:42 (remixed by Yvonne Turner)
2: Circle Of One 3:54 (the album version - I think and probably the best of the mixes)
3: Circle Of One (T Remix) 6:00*
4: Circle Of One (Swing On The Groove Mix) 4:14*
*both remixed by the Funky Ginger (a.k.a. Simon Law if my memory serves me) and using a sample of a disco/soul record that I can’t remember the name of.

Unfortunately all the remixes now sound a bit dated to my now jaded ears and I think the 12" is going to be added to my get rid of pile, don’t take this in anyway as a criticism of you or anybody else that like the mixes. I can’t believe it’s nearly 15 years old!

The 12" mixes of "Circle Of One” are just harder and longer versions of the CD single mix, which sounds like the mix that you have on your comp (although it’s not called the American Dance Remix), for me the best mix is the album version.

I also pulled out the UK “Rhythm of Life” 12" mixed by William Orbit and that still sounds fantastic and is a must have record in my opinion.
