I somewhat agree with Blaxman but I do like here first release 'How Will I Know' but the mix of it on the 'Ultimix' service. The disc-jockey added some nice 'triples' (using three turntables to have a song repeat a phrase or lyric three times). That mix added life to the song and made Whitney sound better than in her past releases. All the best, DJ Phil

Oh, come on people. Sure, Miss Whitney is little more than a punchline these days--thanks to a bad attitude, a creepy marriage and an "alleged" drug problem --but way back when "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" was a huge hit, and fun to dance to as well.

"I'm Every Woman" was very enjoyable too, and another big hit--even if only because it gave gay guys a chance to release their inner drag queen.

It was all downhill after that though, thanks to her bitch diva attitude and her attempts to grab some street cred by hooking up with the hip hop crowd. ZZZ

I must admit that my personal favorite by her is
How will I know

it is the only whitney houston song
that has the strength
to be played a couple of times in a week withgout sounding
monotone and boring at the end of that week,,,,

I donīt think that Whitney made never a
disco-song, except as feat. on a MICHAEL
ZAGER record. Why donīt you talk about her
mother???

Any of the ones that haven't been released... especially if they never will be!

For me, "Love Will Save The Day" and the Disconet Remix of "So Emotional". Not disco? After reading the extremely convoluted thread on "When/Where Did Eurodisco Begin", I'm going to stick with our long-lost friend, Maarten --- I'M SICK OF LABELS!

Hi SUTNOP,

I love HOW WILL I KNOW, from her classic first album. And I love STEP BY STEP too - the original recording, not the lousy remix included on her compilation!

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU ALL,

Cissy Houston - Think it over was a hit in New York, big time.

I remember when American Bandstand (National) and Soul Alive (N.Y.C.) Dance Shows were big on playing this tune.

Coincidentally, I posted this message on a different thread earlier this week:

<< Speaking of Cissy Houston, on a whim yesterday I pulled out her "Warning: Danger" EP and played the title track. When someone posted a question a while back about a song with sirens I totally forgot about this one.

"Warning" is an awesome song; unfortunately as the '80s progressed, lyrics like "this love affair could be hazardous to you" suddenly didn't play too well anymore.... >>
