| I was really disappointed in the perfomances this week. I'm sure glad those two brothers are going back to the Bronx. How did they make the top 32 anyway??? |

| Agree with you on this week's performances. It was like everybody had a case of nerves or something. Really bad singing. Those two brothers were actually quite good in their first auditions. Surprised how dreadful they sounded this time. BTW -- Who got picked out of the first eight? I saw them sing but I didn't catch the episode after the votes were in. I had hopes for: 1) FANTASIA - She's got her own style and energy. Really good. 2) THE 16 YEAR-OLD GIRL FROM TEXAS - Sings like a pro. Great vocal control. 3) THE BROTHER WITH THE GOATEE - NOT THE DANCER FROM NYC - It's probably because I can't stand "Wind Beneath My Wings" that I want the other guy. I've got to start remembering names now that Bill and I are finally getting into this show after what, 3 seasons? :P It's kind of fun. The early auditions were hysterical. I never knew delusion ran so rampant in this country. |

| The first show's winners were: Fantasia Diana De Garmo--She sang "I've Got The Music In Me" |

| I like Fantasia. It's too bad Matthew from Cincinnati was let go (he sang "Walking In Memphis") in the first episode. He had a good voice.

| I heard that a contestant was booted out because they were arrested for drunk driving. Btw, our resident Hollywood gossip queen |

Also, we're a both a bit over AI. Probably get into it more after all of these preliminaries. It doesn't help that the show seems to have the most commercials of any program on the tube right now! However, I love that Latoya is from the Bay Area! She and the other girl from Bakersfield were on a local morning program the other day. They both have wonderful taste because they were both screaming about how much they love San Francisco! They deserve to win based on that comment alone! |

| Sorry--haven't been watching. I'm sorta over it. Pre-fab stars are seeming boring to me this year. All I care about is getting Bush out of the White House.

| Once again I laughed hysterically when watching the initial auditions. That's the best comedy I've seen in a long time. Now that part of the show is over, all that's left are a bunch of average singers. So far none of the contestants have stuck out in my mind. But I'll still watch anyway. |

| I was disappointed in last night's selections. I think Susan Vellaca should have made the top 12. Why is everyone so crazy about Leah Labelle? What is so great about her voice? Oh btw, I heard William Hung (She Bangs, She Bangs) got a record deal. Maybe now he can get his teeth fixed. |

| I found last night's Motown show to be really lackluster. I was surprised at the bottom three tonight. Two people who deserved to be there are going to be on for another week. |

| OK, I watched a bit of last night's Elton John song show. I flipped to see most of the performances while I was watching "Hardball" on CNBC. Boy, has this show "jumped the shark"!!!! (In other words, lost that special something it once had.) There were a couple people who were OK...but the overall quality was very poor. Are the rest of you, who are still watching, noticing this? :o Does the world need more pre-fabricated "celebrities"??? It seems we have quite enough already.

| This morning on one of our local morning news shows, they interviewed Barry Manilow. He's going to be a celebrity judge on American Idol this season (whoopee! ). Anyway, they played him snippets of William Hung's (AI reject that made a complete fool of himself trying to sing "She Bangs" and has now been rewarded with 15 minutes of fame. Is America that starved for entertainment??!) new CD. It was like fingernails on a chalkboard and Mr. M's facial expressions showed his disgust! He finally asked them to turn it off, much to everyone's relief. So, is that what this show has been reduced to? I watched a few episodes at the beginning but I haven't bothered for the last few weeks. |
