| in my opinion this has to be one of the true forms of dance music (especially the faster versions) where dancing with a partner is usually a must too bad i cant totally understand what most of the artists are saying but i have always felt that this music has a close relation to disco live instruments (<-- most of the time) combined with deep bass would it be incorrect for me to assume that this music (although it is much faster) is another direct decendant of disco? disco experts let me know what you think |

| Merengue has being evolving since its Dominican first days. Nowadays is more of a mixture of pop, dance and tropical musical genre. However, it is a very infectious and fun loving rhythm. Big names in Merengue are: Gilberto Santa Rosa, Olga Tanon, Wilfrido Vargas, and many others. If you haven't experienced the force of Merengue I strongly recommend to do it. Have a Disco Life. |
