Default 'Bad Girls' Deluxe - Rip Off?

Donna Summer's 'Bad Girls' is due to be released as a 'deluxe' package. I am extremely disappointed at the track listing of this CD due to be released 29 July 2003. (If what I've read is true!)
CD1 is the entire album including a demo version of 'Bad Girls.' CD2 has the 12"/ext versions of her other (later, Casablanca) hits. I.E her ''Dance Collection' CD.
Surely there were other out-takes/demos of the Bad Girls sessions? As it is, I am pissed off with record companies as they moan about people downloading music on the net. Are they so stupid to not understand why? (Not to mention the extortionate price they charge for music !!) Yet, EMI throws $80 million at Robbie Williams. I feel so sorry for them!!!
After spending a great deal of my hard earned cash on music since I was a kid, I am now a lot wiser (and older!!)
Will I be spending $30 on the 'new, revamped 'deluxe' CD?
Will anyone else buy it? Please post you comments.

I had to look in a couple of stores before I could find the set, but I finally found it at Borders, along with "Diana - Deluxe Edition". Both of them were indeed pricey at $29.98 each but the packaging on each very nice. I love how the CD trays have photos of the boxes with the original master tapes and the comments, and the full artwork from the original albums printed on nice sturdy stock.

As for the content (the most important thing!), sorry, I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet. Definitely this weekend.

Default I couldn't help it!!

 Well, I did it - I bought the CD!! I couldn't resist it. The packaging is awesome and the booklet is informative. Yes, it's a rip-off to those of us who already have the 'Bad Girls' and 'Dance Collection' sets. To Universal records - that's my hard earned dosh in your pockets. You'll be rubbing your hands with glee!!
Now the other one: Diana Ross's 'Diana' is phenomenal!! I love the 'unreleased' version on CD1. 'Tenderness' is my fave and the 12" of 'I ain't been licked' from CD2. Well done Universal on this package but overpriced as usual!!! No wonder there are so many illegal downloads being done!! I hope they both sell well to raise both artists profile.

I bought it too - Best Buy has the best price at $24.99.
If you have the earlier releases of both albums you may want to think about saving your loot. The packaging and booklet are nice, but after all it is all about the music.

You won't find a more hardcore Donna fan than I :D

I noticed that. I was at a Best Buy yesterday, and I saw a copy of it for the first time, but I didn't buy it because it's too pricey for right now (I bought Slayer's "War At The Warfield" DVD instead). But I will probably ask for it for a birthday present. This is one album I would like to get. I looked the the song list of the 12" singles disc, and I noticed that "Love To Love You Baby" isn't on it. I thought that it was released as a 12-incher, but I guess I'm wrong. I've heard an extended version of the song somewhere.

Well, the original album version is 16 minutes long... how much longer would you want it?

12" singles weren't yet established when LTLYB came out. It filled an entire side of the album of the same name. Having said that, there are three ways to get the full-length version:

- From the original album, also on CD. Also has 5 other songs that are not disco at all.

- From a compilation album of the same name, which has the "Try Me, I Know We Can Make It" medley on the flip. This one is long out of print.

- From "The Casablanca Story" box set.

I want a 70 minute version of the song.

Seriously, I didn't know that the long version was on the "Love to Love You Baby" album (I know about the album itself, though). I'm not necessarily looking for a long version of the song. I was just surprised it wasn't on the "Bad Girls Deluxe Edition" CD. But since you told me that 12-inch singles didn't even exist at the time "Love to Love You Baby" came out (which I didn't remember), that explains everything.

By the way, I remember where I heard a long version of the song: KBIG's "Disco Saturday Night" show. I don't think it's 16 minutes, though. This version has to be from a disco compilation.
