I just picked it up, haven't had much time to listen to it yet. But gave it the once over, theres some very slick disco. I think it's worth getting just for Is it all over my face. This is the best of West End Records and a must have for any disco collector.

I agree that it's a must for any collector, but I was left feeling strangely dissatisfied. I have all the West End Story compilations, and most of these tunes are on those CDs, except a couple. I can't put my finger on it, maybe it's the mixing, maybe I'm just too familar with the songs to get excited by hearing them all again one after the other, but I ddn't get the expected buzz from it. And the MAW tune at the end of CD2 is a repetitive waste of space.

Great track, but not the best on WE.

Ever heard "Mary Hartman Mary Hartman" (Sound of Inner City = Salsoul Orchestra), Billy Nichol's "Give your body up...", Taana Gardner's "Hartbeat" or "When you touch me", Mahogany's "Ride on the ryhthm", Brenda Taylor's "You can't have your cake...."????

Or even some obscure ones like "George and Glenn Miller's "Touch your life", or Sybil Thomas's "Rescue me"???

Sybil Thomas and "Rescue Me" is one of the most beautiful tracks ever written for the dance floor.

I found it on "This is disco" on the UK Streetsounds label. God, they did some excellent stuff in their time. It was kind of record pool releases but commercially available.

Hey Giovanni, I agree with you. Especially with your mention of "You Can't Have Your Cake." I have a compilation West End cd that I bought specifically for that song. I just love it. BTW, that cd also has "Time", "Heartbeat", "Do It To The Music", etc.
