Default New Dance Music Radio Station in LA!!!!

Since the demise of Groove Radio, LA has had no real dance music station. Rumaging around the radio dial last Saturday night, I came upon a new station in the exact same spot where Groove used to be: 103.1 on the dial. The Mexican station has moved--Dance Music is back!!!! KDL -The Party Station is advertising playing "10,000 songs in a row" as their opening act. The records are the short radio versions and they mostly harken back to the days of Groove radio--I mean I know most of these tunes and I ain't been to a club in ten years!!!!

The oldest thing I've heard is Nu Shooz "I Can't Wait" and I recently heard "Murder On The Dance Floor" and the dance remix of Mis Aguilera's "Beautiful" as newer selections. Some of the music is tired...but, it's a start. Yesterday, I heard "Hella Good" and "Porcelain" (oldies but real goodies!!!! This morning I heard "The Message" (so I guess that is actually the oldest song I've heard).

Well, if you're in LA, give it a listen. We'll see how long it hangs around this time. I wonder if they'll attempt a Disco show???? Hmmmm.....

Default I think...

103.1, hum
I live in west L.A. area. In my opinion, I think the radio station is for people don't care too much about club sounds and just wanna have some party. If u look for the core club sounds, ofcourse latest one too (incl. some rare-grooves) from all over the world, I would recommend KCRW89.9. The programs are called Metropolis and Chocolate City(Mon-Fri 7pm-12am).

Yeah, I agree that the DANCE STATION: 103.1 is kinda tired. I've read that the targeted demographic is Hispanic women...

I listened for a week; rarely go back there.

However, today's "hardcore club sounds" would probably be worse, IMHO. (I'm a sacred of dat ) :P

Mark, the dance station is San Francisco is just as tired (92.7). Everytime I tune in (usually when I'm in my car), it seems like I hear the same set of songs. What? Do they only have one playlist??! Plus, the signal strength is really weak - seems like the station is only clear when driving in Downtown SF and in the Castro!

Default GREAT NEWS!

Man, a lot of complaining going on... at least you HAVE dance stations in California. Here in Virginia Beach, we have 9 hip hop stations, 3 country stations, 5 rock stations and jack squatto dance stations. Now true, Christina Aguilera remixes and a 10 song playlist would probably get on my nerves, but seriously, these stations need our support or you'll just have another mexican station! If you have a website for your dance stations, please post them so I can check it out. Here's the best dance station I've seen in a long time:
www.party931.com
It's from South Beach, FL
