Default Who ripped off who?? (Farley Jackmaster Funk / JM Silk)

I've been trying to find out what version came first - hopefully some of you can help me out.

Love Can't Turn Around by Farley Jackmaster Funk & jessie Saunders was a big hit..... but there's also a version named "I Can't Turn Around" by JM Silk (aka Steve Silk Hurley & Keith Nunally) .
They came out the same year, I believe, and the tracks are virtually identical. But who released it first??? & who really deserves credit for the song???

K-BEE as for english releases farley jackmaster funk came out at least 3 months before jm silk, i know this wont answer your question as its u.s dates youre after, but that type of stuff was coming out in this country pretty quickly at that time.

At that time, I had first the Farley version, but I got a UK pressing. Later I got the US pressing of Silk Hurley.
But if you are into early house, you surely noticed how many early discs were pressed on several tiny labels before major release. So I am confused too, but still think that Farley was the first

Farley Jackmaster Funk released the song first, and deserves the credit. The song was released on Traxx Records and became thier first international hit making the top ten in the UK of August, 1986.

That's the info I needed.
Thanks, Discojuice. Hailing from Chicago gives you the edge, I guess.

Thanks Bernie :)
Guess Farley came first then. But Silk deserves the credit.
Somehow that's how I thought it would be in the first place.
