Default Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer

In case anyone hasn't heard of this song yet, Sophie has just put up a couple of new tracks on her Myspace, this one and her version of "Off And On" originally recorded by Roisin Murphy.. I think this is my favourite new pop song of the moment. Pure dancefloor release.. I wish we got to hear more pop music like this on these shores a little more often..

Fantastic! Thanks Neon for introducing me to these new songs of Sophie's. I always loved Murder On The Dancefloor but Heartbreak is wonderful!

And I agree about pop radio on this continent...what is it that keeps those in charge of the airwaves so guarded about putting anything out there that has a 4/4 beat and moves your body at 124 bpms or more? Are we just too damned afraid to put people in a good mood?

Hey, no problem! I'm not sure, although I'd wonder if it has something to do with the concentration of media. The less people that own the airwaves, the narrower the formats appear to get, it seems.. I barely listen to commercial radio anymore, but it would be nice to have a little more diversity..

One year later and with a dynamic remix by the Freemasons, Sophie has herself a major dancefloor classic happening at the moment. Gorgeous and classy in every way...disco's appeal and style still reigns!

I just got the 10 track promo CD single of "Heartbreak" from PerfectBeat.com. Oh my gawd! Sophie is bloody ripper in this track and so dead sexy in the video (which I bought from iTunes). And she's a mum twice over too. Thanks to HMV.co.uk and HMV Oxford Circus on my trips to London, I have collected many of Sophie's CD singles over her three solo albums. Her "b sides" are just as good as what gets on the albums. She is a very talented musician and songwriter.
