A cd that I've been enjoying for a couple months now is the latest from Blank and Jones called
Relax. It's a double disc package...one disc named
Sun for late afternoon or late night lounging comfort followed by the
Moon cd with its early evening laid back house tracks.
There is definitely artistry at work here as well as loving passion for making music that flows to create a mood. It's that unique kind of album that's best enjoyed in its entirety rather than a cut here and there as the songs are beautifully segued with gorgeous rhythms, beautiful guitar licks, and male vocals that bring back memories of Jim Croce - all with a very contemporary edge!
Standout cuts for me would be the covers of Bob Seger's
Still The Same and William Pitt's
City Lights. As well, the chilled feel of
Nothing Can Come Between Us, Summer Breeze (Seals and Croft cover)and
Perfect Love (you'd swear this was James Taylor)are simply perfect fireside companions.
I recommend this strongly for anyone who enjoys chillout and laid back house grooves...fantastic!
