| In my opinion one of the best popular songs of the 80's which could possibly be described as somewhere between a rock/disco track (if that's at all possible?) is the No.1 hit record from 1985 - 'Easy Lover' by Phil Collins/Bailey! It's Such a wonderful song that i could listen to over & over again! I still hear it played in certain clubs i go to of a weekend and it's just a tune that i always dance to - even though as i mentioned b4, it's not really a dance/disco song - it's somewhere inbetween being that and a rock song, which is rather odd, but wonderful none the less! Maybe it's the influence of Phil Collins that gives it the rockier type sound and the influence of Phillip Bailey that gives it the disco type sound? Two years b4 Easy lover,Phillip Bailey (of Earth Wind & Fire fame of course) had a track out called 'The Good guy's supposed to the get the girl' (1983) which if you've never heard b4, i recommend you do if you can as it's 80's funky disco/rare groove at it's best in my opinion! |

| Hey WOW (!) sorry man, I have to disagree. I never liked EASY LOVER (the song, boys & girls, the song...). Phillip Bailey is one of the great soul singers ever - his perfomances on EW&F records are wonderful -, but this track is nothing but a weak pop song written and produced in a lite R&B vein - the kind of thing that Phil Collins tried to sell in the 80's as "white R&B" (aaargh!). Different folks... :D Peace and UNDERSTANDING, zeca azevedo, a/k/a Dr  |

| I'm so glad you dont like this track Zeca as I usually agree with your tastes. I love Philip Bailey's solo stuff & his work with EW & F & Paulinho Da Costa but I happen to think this is one of THE worst records of the 80's. I cant describe how much i hate it as I'd probably be thrown off the site for offensive language! I dont like being negative but I'm so disappointed that this track has been mentioned at all on this site; it'll take me a while to recover from it!!
