| Let's move on with the typical late 80's Belgian Newbeat with some of the best anthems! The Maxx - Cocaine Amnesia - Ibiza (Loco Acid Remix) Edwards & Armani - Acid Drill Arbeid Adelt! - Disco Death (Originally by P.I.L.) And this my friends is the first record of the man who would later write, produce and record Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam" Kash In The East - Kamaleio Last edited by Videoskooter; March 22nd, 2008 at 10:30 PM. |

| Johan, Your post inspired me to listen to some Belgian New Beat in my collection. There was a time where I bought quite a bit of this on CD. What about these titles? F.O.G.: Electrify Boytronic: Bryllyant (33 1/3 Plus 8 Remix) In-D: Virgins IN-D Sky Jade 4 U: Rock It To The Bone Positive: Change This Circus

Now Jade4U is a member of the Praga Khan/Lords Of Acid posse and is more considered as Acid House. Nikki is still very active nowadays: So is 101 who did a great cover of Reese & Santonio's "Rock To The Beat" but that 1's more New Beat: Last edited by Videoskooter; March 25th, 2008 at 05:27 PM. |

| The synthesizers are so incredble in some of these numbers - simple but very funky in their own way. I love the creativity and oddness of the theme(s). One of my all-time favorites was by Miss Nicky Trax, titled "Baby, It's Allright Now" - it was a very moody song but great feel. Thanks again, Videoscooter for posting and making this music stand out! Glenn :) SHADES OF SEVENTIES |

| While posting the thread on Claudio Simonetti, I just thought of the fact that there were 2 bands under the banner "Capricorn". One, is the Italodisco outfit, but a second one is Dutch and this one-man-band has put out a superb track in 1993 which for me is one of the great examples of the evolution from New Beat into Acid(House). IMO very ahead of it's time and I still play this one frequently! I wondered if this cut is known outside the Benelux? "20Hz" ![]() |
