Default First house song

Frankie Knuckles "godfather of house" is in fact the very very beginning of how it got started as well WBMX in Chicago. Of course it can be argued what record was actually the first but as I recall the very first house record with a house beat rather than a freestyle beat was Chip E - Like This from 1985. After Chip E came out then came all the Jack song's. Jack Your Body, Jack To The Sound, Jack To The House... Lil' Louis came out in the late 80's so I would not say he was the first. Raze came out in 1987. Adonis - Do It Probably also is one of the first because it came out in 1986. A year after Chip E!

I don't know if this song is considered "house" but there's something sort of "house" about it: ESG's Moody.

Fast Eddie: Acid Thunder and Phuture : Acid Trax were the ones that got me into house.

I listened to house music but wasn't sure what it was called. For example "Good Life" by Inner City and "A day in the life" by Black Riot feat. Todd Terry. In 1993 I dumped rap music and started getting into the underground house music scene in Boston and New York. I remember loving Masters at Work with India, Frankie Knuckles, Jaydee "plastic dreams", Louie Vega....

I don't remember which one was the FIRST song I fell in love with. I do remember that the minute I walked into Avalon (club in Boston) and heard the music I was in heaven I haven't stopped listening to house music (progressive, deep, garage, hard house, latin house) since then.

I was also into trance and I honestly don't remember when the heck did all the clubs STOP playing house music and started to only play trance. Makes me sad really.

doing a little research about house music, it has been said that Jesse Saunders - On and On from 1983 and Z Factor's - Fantasy from 1983 were in fact the first. Is this true?

I was listening to the 12" of Burnin' Up by Imagination 1982 the other day and it struck me that this song certainly had a house sound to it.So I did a little digging and came up with this gem.

From the AMG review of the 1982 LP Body Talk.

" The third song, "Burnin' Up" ? a favorite of Warehouse DJ Frankie Knuckles ? was several years ahead of its time and had an immense influence on Chicago house music, most particularly songs like Marshall Jefferson's "Move Your Body." A dance track through and through, its open spaces, loose feel, and fluid piano runs are more fitting for dancefloor tiles than the rumpled bedsheets caused by the opening pair of songs."

So it could be argued that our friends the Brits were the forefathers of house music.
