| Well, I'm a little hazy on the 1990's--I know I liked some stuff...I was gonna start with "In Private" by Dusty Springfield, BUT I see that was 1989, soooooo....totally arbitrarily... "HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN" - Lonnie Gordon "DREAMER" - Livin' Joy "BE MY BABY" (Van S Hard Mix) - Cappella "MISSING" - Everything But the Girl "SUNCHYME" - Dario G "TOGETHER AGAIN" - Janet Jackson "ALWAYS THERE" - Incognito w/Jocelyn Brown "MOVING ON UP" - M People "THE POWER" - Snap! "CARRY ON - Donna Summer & Giorgio Moroder ALSO: "RHYTHM IS A DANCER" - Snap! "BELIEVE" - Cher "RAY OF LIGHT" - Madonna "DON'T CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA" - Madonna "MAGIC CARPET RIDE" - Mighty Dub Katz "SO IN LOVE WITH YOU" - Duke "I'M EVERY WOMAN" - Whitney Houston "RIGHT IN THE NIGHT" - Jam & Spoon "MORE AND MORE" - Captain Hollywood Project "A DEEPER LOVE" C+C w/ Aretha Franklin Oh, and "Touch Me" by 49er's Without looking at everything, that's enough (for now) _________________ Make My Feet Wanna Dance! | Don't forget the disco songs of the 1990s: "Turn the Beat Around" by Gloria Estefan (1994) "Cosmic Girl" by Jamiroquai (1996) "Who Do You Think You Are" by the Spice Girls (1996) "Never Give Up On the Good Times" by the Spice Girls (1997) "Let's Go Round Again" by Louise Nurding (1997) "Strong Enough" by Cher (1998) "Outside" by George Michael (1998) "I Love the Night Life" by India with NuYorican Soul (1998) "It's A Disco Night" by Pascal and Mister Day (1998) "Canned Heat" by Jamiroquai (1999) "Bag It Up" by Geri Halliwell (1999) "Rhythm is a Dancer" by Snap! is certainly one of my favorite non-disco dance songs of the '90s. I also like Cathy Dennis' 1991 "Touch Me (All Night Long)" and Jamiroquai's 1991 "Alright", and some electrodance songs from around 1992-1993 that I don't remember much about. "Cosmic Girl" by Jamiroquai is my favorite disco dance song of the '90s. Since this is a disco board, what is your favorite disco song of the '90s - as differentiated from electronic dance music without violins or guitars? |

I like most of what is on this list. I never heard the Cappella song. "The Power" was never one of my favorites and I thought it was overplayed. "Together Again" is a great song. I have the cd maxi with the extended versions. I'd like to add the following: "I'm Leavin'" Lisa Stansfield "Something To Believe In" Linda Eder |

| In my opinion, dance music in the '90s left a lot to be desired--like real instruments--but the BEST dance record of the decade had to be "Crucified" by Army of Lovers. Others that come to mind without looking at Billboard, DMR or my collection: "One by One" (remix) by Cher, "Carry On" by The Diva Herself, "Stay Over" by the Essex Girls and "Vogue" by Madonna (before I stopped caring).

| Oh yeah, definitely the Junior Vasquez remix of Cher's "One By One". Loved that! Anyone know the remix of "Whispering Your Name" by Alison Moyet? Love that too! "No One Can Love You More Than Me" by Hannah Jones, although the CD of remixes I bought ALL SUCKED!!!!! What year was "Good Life" by Inner City from? "Walking On Broken Glass" by Annie Lennox (David Morales Remix) "Cherchez La Femme" by Gloria Estefan (Ballroom Vocal Mix) "Peace Train" by Dolly Parton (Julian's Morning Passage Mix & The Holy Roller Mix) Oh, my tapes are at work, so I'm forgetting things, I'm sure. nrgbeat, The Capella "Be My Baby" used the Henry Mancini "Peter Gunn" theme to spectacular effect in that one mix. I used to hear it on Groove Radio here in LA before it went the way of "Mexican Radio" as ALL of the stations I listened to in the 1990's have.

| Marky-- Hot Tracks did a good remix of "Whispering Your Name"; could that be the remix you're referring to? And I agree with you about "No One Can Love You More Than Me": The remixes I heard all sucked--just stripped away the soul and added a lot of techno noise in its place. Another instance of where simply extending the LP cut would have been much more enjoyable. On the other hand, when Gloria Estefan covered "Turn the Beat Around" and "Everlasting Love," the LP cuts had those annoying techno influences--it was the remixes that gave those songs a more "disco" feel.
