Could we get rid of all these polls at the top of the page?

They have been there for ages and it means you can't see new posts at a glance.

Yes, we could get rid of them. The question is will we? (Sorry, couldn't resist. :) ) It was a member that suggested we bring them 'back-to-the-front' so to speak as an aid to new members who join. This way, a lot of repeat questions and queries could be avoided as the "Sticky" posts addressed quite a few issues. Other members who spoke up seemed to like the idea. You are the first complaint. Let's see how it goes.

As for seeing new posts at a glance --- I don't think it's all that difficult to scroll down to the last "Sticky" thread to find the new posts. Or, just look at the date/time in the right-hand column.
