Default I'm Getting Old

Geez'm, it took me weeks to find this Simon stuff and other members had to fill in the blank for me. Christ, I must be getting slow on the uptake here.
Anyway, some of you probably remember those Fantomas days, now that was fun This place used to be like 42nd Street in the 70's. Now it's like 42nd Street today. It's kid friendly

That's why you gotta check in everyday.

Tune in again tomorrow, for the continuing saga of "All My BPM's".

No Paul, you're getting old when a doctor tells you you have osteo arthritis in your knee and you're too young to have replacement knee surgery (as our beloved NHS only wants to perform the operation once in anyone's lifetime due to cost). Oh, the bitter-sweet irony of it!

I'm surprised you took the trouble to delve so deeply to uncover some dirt.

Let's not forget the phony former-lesbian-prostitute-with-AIDS-who-found-Jesus-through-him persona that he created.

Graham, what was the name of the supposed "lesbian dying of AIDS" who we never knew was real or a sick figment of someone's fetid imagination or well...I guess we did learn that person was a phony, didn't we???

I can't recall the name...Carla?/Angela?...those aren't right...the name eludes me....

And what was her message??? That we should repent and find the Lord??? What was that all about??

Perhaps there's a need for an old timers' forum?
A place where non-PC was de rigeur. Where adults could find some action away from the kids and over-sensitive types.

Of course, I wouldn't go near the place!!

Marky: I always thought you'd make a good villain. Gawd knows you've got away with more bad behaviour than I ever have. You have the knack of putting on someone without them really knowing it.

No, I ain't volunteerin', I don't need to. Apparently, it comes to me naturally.

hmmm...an odd response when I was obviously kidding once again. Oh well. I guess you have more scars than I'm aware of....I thought your hide was made of impenetrable Dragon Skin.

You can count me in for a "no holds barred" forum.

I still don't understand how it went from this website’s leadership not wanting to censor posts or ban members, to, five days later, censoring posts and extending banning powers to the moderators.

I think it's ridiculous that we have to sit on our hands because of a "moderator" who is no longer on this board. If it was a moderator who started the problem, why are the rest of us forced to bear a clampdown?

And why are the moderators allowed to post? It doesn't help to engage in conversation with other members, only to be threatened by their superior powers if something wrong is said.

It doesn’t help when you know who the moderators are. In fact, it makes it harder.

This is nothing against Videoskooter or RetroRuss, who are wonderful, fantastic additions to this board. Videoskooter alone is one of the most fun and personable posters’ on this website.

And Videoskooter, you know how much you are loved because you tried to leave us once before. And we begged you to stay. And I would do it again.

My tirade is against moderators in general. And it is obvious, from some of the others posts, that there is a lot of uneasiness in how we post today.

A suggestion: make the moderators “ambassadors”. Let them monitor the board, moving threads to appropriate forums, greeting new members, help answer/acknowledge posts that may have gone unanswered (especially from newbies), etc. In essence, they would be guides, a sort of “turn-to” person. And maybe offer advice to the owner in touchy situations.

And if others have suggestions, please make them known.

It’s okay to tweak things. It’s okay to say this idea was a work in progress. It’s okay to rethink the moderator system.

But the longer we hold on to a frustrating situation, the faster we drown. Let go, and we all get to swim where we want.

Bernie, it is getting too “G-Rated” around here for grown adults, who in reality, want to behave like children.

Do you see the irony?

I guess i'm not the only one who missed old days when it was more wild.
Marky, how could we ever forget Ricardo I can't believe I almost got sucked into his Caroline scam
I don't know if any of us can turn into the instant villains because we kinda know each other, and oh I don't know, I don't think we'd be able to piss each other off that much, maybe
Needles, I agree with your general point but of course that's up to Bernie
