I hear strange chanting and moaning sounds that I can NOT turn off by navigating away from the page. I have to completely log off to turn them off. Anyone else getting this? Is it a virus?

More seriously, you may have an advertisement banner running in another tab or window.

These advertisement banners are triggered from the browser by (I guess) the internet service host.

The most famous advertisement of this kind is my friend Zoltar...

In your case, the ad may contain audio-visual material instead of just a static image.

The only fix is to find the poped-up window/tab and close it manually.

Thx Marcus. I don't have that problem maybe because Firefox doesn't open those windows.

If it keeps bothering you, try to find out which advertisement it is so it can be checked!

Thanks Marcus, I re-loaded Norton and that seems to have fixed it.
