Default with some regret, my resignation as moderator

Hi all,

After some discussion with DiscoMusic.com's owner Bernie and my fellow active moderators, it is with some regret that I have resigned my position as a moderator on the forums.

I have thought for some time that the continually ambiguous phraseology and the inaccurate and repetitive nature of a certain domineering, delusional and ego fueled members postings is damaging to the forums and that these postings continually lead us further away from credibility into an area of disinformation and downright drivel all to the huge detriment of the DiscoMusic forums.

Under the circumstances I find I can no longer tolerate this situation while being tied by the moderating guidelines.

I wish to thank Bernie for giving me the opportunity of being moderator, my fellow moderators for their support and all those who have contacted me over the last few months and I will happily continue to contribute to the forum and its future.

Simon

Hi Simon,

Thank you for all your contributions to the DiscoMusic.com forum and record vault. Your vast background in music and willingness to help other members is a great asset to the community. While I wasn't prepared to go down the road you proposed of what essentially could turn into censorship and banning, I respect your decision to step down as moderator and look forward to your continued participation in our discussions and the adding of records to the vault. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Thanks Bernie.

I don't remember ever saying I was for any censorship or banning at all - except in obviously extreme cases.
In fact my belief is that any forum should be self policing but at the same time the site owners or moderators should be making it clear that certain ways of posting may be detrimental to the board and should be actively discouraged.
In this case, attempts to do that were failing so then I thought we should move to the next stage.

Thanks gorgeous !

I have standards (actually pretty low ones ! ) and felt the need to stand up for them.

Simon: If you knew just how domineering, delusional and ego fueled this came across, you wouldn't have written it. Conceited, moi???

So, now you can return to normality. Smile, be happy.

I've always thought that being a moderator and contributor is a 'no win' situation and appointing moderators from the hoi polloi is nothing but a divide and rule tactic by site owners (a tactic that's been employed by owners of property for eons in the continual struggle between the different classes), but what do I know?

(The above is by far the most accurate statement you have made since I have been here)
You disrespect Bernie, Simon, Johan, Neil,Headlamp and the contributors .
There is a reason the "named" people are chosen to be moderators and it has nothing to do with your theory.

Dayna, thank you for supporting us!

I will lock this thread now since I'm not going to tolerate this kinda behaviour on the board. Those little private wars spoil the fun for all the members and it's going to end here and now!
